Dr. Baker

 Dr. Stephanie Baker

Dr. Stephanie Baker grew up between Dallas and rural Arkansas, so she is both a big city and country girl making Austin just the right fit when her husband convinced her to move here in 2011.  As the daughter of a veterinarian, she was either gonna be a vet or a Broadway costume designer, but animals won out and after undergrad at Colorado State University, she completed her DVM from Texas A&M in 1999.  After vet school, she immersed herself in horse medicine in California for 4 years, till a yearning for home, dogs and cats called her back to Texas.  She practiced with amazing people in Dallas for 10 years, then she met a boy.  Her husband, Jeremy, put on the hard sell for Austin, and man was she glad he did! An amazing new chapter began...

Dr. Baker has had the honor of practicing at great clinics, with great people in Austin ever since.  During that time, two 2-legged sons were welcomed, along with two 4-legged girls, making one crazy pack in her house.  Dr. Baker has a special interest in whole life, whole family medicine.  Building relationships that help foster preventative care, resulting in early detection of health issues and great treatment outcomes, is so rewarding. She enjoys all soft tissue surgery and dentistry. And the final honor is being by a family’s side through the end of life, celebrating an amazing pet. She looks forward to building those relationships with all of the Far West family of clients and patients.
